Sherry Hackett’s career in the beauty industry spans more than 30 years. She is the Founder and Director of the Permanent Cosmetics Institute with main offices located in Southern California.
As a board certified Paramedical Derma-Technician, and one of the leading instructors in the United States, Ms. Hackett offers her clients a high level of professional skill, blended with keen aesthetic quality. In her own work, and in the training of students in this field, Ms. Hackett insists on the highest standards of safety, including the use of specialized equipment, disposable instruments and natural pigments.
The Permanent Cosmetics Institute implements the same medical sterilization standards and procedures adhered to by physicians; as well as focusing personal attention on each client’s unique features and special needs.
Ms. Hackett’s clients include realtors, attorneys, legal secretaries and various other business professionals. Practicing in Southern California, a majority of her clients also include models, celebrities, sports, movie and television personalities, and those in other areas of the entertainment industry as well.
A percentage of her clients are physically impaired women, as well as the visually impaired, individuals with dexterity problems, allergy sufferers and women who are simply very active in sports and aerobics, and appreciate the convenience of permanent cosmetics, and the confidence in looking their best regardless of activity.
Ms. Hackett’s professional background includes work in make up design, cosmetics application and modeling. Her educational background includes studies in art and psychology at the University of Southern California, as well as advanced level training in permanent cosmetics application and master level training in paramedical procedures.
She received her permanent cosmetics certification in 1990 at the prestigious West Coast Academy of Permanent Cosmetics, under the direction of the renowned Pati Pavlik, who was commonly known throughout the industry as the “Mother of Permanent Cosmetics” until her passing in 2012.
She further studied with, and received her advanced and master level certification in 1993 from the Institute of Dermagraphic Technology. Ms. Hackett did her Paramedical internship at the Imaging Center for Corrective Dermagraphics.
Since becoming certified as a Permanent Cosmetics Instructor in 1995, Ms. Hackett has trained more than 2700 successful technicians from all around the world.
Ms. Hackett is a founding member of the NCTA (National Cosmetic Tattoo Association), an organization dedicated to the continuing research of products and their performance in the practice of permanent cosmetics. She is also listed in the “National Registry of Who’s Who”, as well as in “Who’s Who in Permanent Color Applications”.
